Hi, I’m Victor

As a senior, I am still riding regularly (weather permitting), and I run JustEBikes.net with my wife Sonja. We started this site because we got tired of the usual ebike hype — flashy ads promising the moon but leaving out what really matters when you’re our age.

We’re not a big corporation. We’re just two regular folks who love getting outside on two wheels. I ride almost every week. Sonja? She hates hills with a passion (and she’s not shy about telling me). That’s why we focus on what actually works for real riders 65 and older — beginners, folks who are a little out of shape, or anyone who just wants to enjoy the ride without struggling.

It’s such a great way to get out and have a light ride workout or just to kick back and cruise, either way it will bring a smile to your face.

Why We Do This

Even though I’ve been riding a bike since I was very young, but I realized as a senior traditional bikes were getting harder on my knees and back. I tried an Ebike on a whim and it changed everything. Suddenly I could tackle the same trails and neighborhood loops without dreading the ups.

JustEBikes.net is my way of cutting through the noise. We look for Ebikes that are:

  • Easy to get on and off (step-through frames are usually our friends)
  • Strong enough on hills without feeling like a rocket ship
  • Light enough (or at least manageable) to move around storage or load into a vehicle
  • Comfortable for older backs, knees, and wrists — upright posture, good saddles, decent suspension where it counts
  • Beginner-friendly so you don’t need a PhD in electronics to ride

We look at reviews giving real-life use in mind: short grocery runs, gentle trail rides, visits to the grandkids, or just a peaceful loop around the neighborhood. No pretending every bike is perfect for everyone.

Our Promise to You

Honest advice only. If something is heavy, we’ll say so. If the hill-climbing motor feels strong but the battery drains fast, you’ll hear it. If a bike is great for flat paths but not your steep driveway, we’ll tell you straight.

We’re in this together — us at our age, still wanting to stay active, independent, and enjoy the outdoors without pain or frustration.

Whether you’re just thinking about your first ebike or ready to upgrade, we’re here to help you find what actually fits your life. Not what some slick ad says you “need.”

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to reach out — I answer questions myself when I can.

Ride easy,

Victor (and Sonja, who still reminds me about those hills)
